Choreo by Rob | Third Child

Coach, Choreographer, Teacher, and Enthusiast are all words used to best describe Rob Myers' connection to the dance world. Most recently Rob added published author to his list of accolades when he completed his Master's thesis titled "No Boys Allowed". Rob's research examined the factors that deter young men from pursuing traditional dance classes during their pre-adolescent years. Mr. Myers understands that his voice as a dance scholar is pertinent and necessary in ensuring that dancers of all sizes, creed, color, and genders have the platform to dance freely and explore all the goodness that dance has to offer.

His previous dance works include: Super Bowl XXXIII, the African-American Dance Review, Stage Ready Productions, Georgia Tech, Spelman College, the Taliah Waajid World Health and Beauty Show, and the Miss Black Georgia Organization, along with extensive competitive dance studio work in the areas of Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, African and Musical Theatre.

Jazz

Jazz dance is an ever-evolving, high-energy art form rooted in rhythm, precision, and undeniable attitude. This style seamlessly bridges the gap between classic theater jazz (Bob Fosse) and modern commercial performance (Beyoncé).

Hip-Hop

Dances that master the contrast between sharp, hard-hitting hits and smooth, fluid grooves. Beyond the technique and choreography, I help you find your personal pocket, build freestyle confidence, and execute movement with raw, authentic attitude.

Afro-Caribbean

Fusing traditional African movement traditions with the distinct, sun-soaked flavors of the Caribbean, this high-energy style focuses on full-body expression and deep musicality. Done by exploring dynamic polyrhythms, grounded footwork, and fluid torso and hip isolations, like traditional West African, Dancehall, and Soca.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a breathtaking, expressive style that rejects the rigid rules of traditional ballet to explore the freedom of organic movement. It's a liberating space designed to help you push your creative boundaries, explore versatile movement qualities, and tell stories through dance.

Lyrical

Dancers display expansive lines, fluid extensions, and controlled turns and leaps. The choreography emphasizes smooth, seamless transitions between movements. It is an inspiring, artistic space designed to help you connect deeply with the music, build core strength and balance, and convey powerful narratives through raw physical emotion.

Liturgical

Rooted in reverence and purpose, this style transforms praise, prayer, and scripture into fluid physical expression. Liturgical dance is a powerful form of sacred movement designed to express deep devotion, honor spiritual narratives, and enhance the worship experience.

Pagaentry/Weddings

Focusing on posture, poise, and commanding visibility, this style blends elements of walking modeling technique with classical jazz, lyrical, and modern lines. It's designed to polish performance qualities, elevate self-presentation, and give performers the precise technique needed to own the spotlight.

Dance Teams

Dance Teams (including dancelines and majorette squads) focus on the highly disciplined, synchronized performance styles seen in school, collegiate, and professional dance squads. Emphasizing absolute uniformity and high-impact visual effects, this style teaches dancers to move seamlessly as a single, powerful unit.
