Tasha M. Myers, PhD

As a first-generation college student from a small town in Florida, it was by faith, not coincidence that she was elected Mayor of her floor in her all-female resident hall at the University of South Florida. This confidence from her peers was the first step on the professional journey of working in higher education. Her attendance at Welcome Week events is where she would meet the love of her life, Rob A. Myers. After earning her B.A. in Public & Cultural Communication, Tasha continued her studies at the University of Georgia. There she earned an M. Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration. Additionally, she earned her PhD from North Carolina A&T State University in leadership studies in December of 2023.

During her career, Myers has shown herself to be a passionate higher education professional with almost 20 years of experience, including student leadership development, diversity, equity, and inclusion, innovation in program creation and expansion, professional development, and training. She uses her extensive

knowledge of theory in leadership, student development, and identity development to create and maintain inclusive environments centered on the concepts of community, equity, social responsibility, and altruism. Additionally, she has been a featured presenter and published contributor on diversity, identity, leadership, workplace efficiency, student development, and programming.

In addition to higher education, Tasha has also worked behind the scenes producing fashion shows, concerts, theater productions, hair shows, cooking shows, and pageants. She is also an artist herself, using her talent for tinkering and creativity by engaging in many projects, such as doing hair and make-up for dance competitions, productions, & special events, fabricating professional-level crafts, and graphic & web design. Tasha has long described herself as a peculiar soul and a creative force in the universe. She is proud to be a 'jill of all trades,' excelling in almost everything she does, aptly adopting the tagline "multipotentiality at work".

Tasha was duly initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through the Greater Salt Lake Alumnae Chapter in the Spring of 2017. Tasha was immediately trusted with leadership, serving as the Recording/Corresponding Secretary and even a shadow for the Regional Director at a National Convention. She is very involved in the High Point Alumnae Chapter, where she has served as Technology Chair and Elections Chair, as well as a member of Public Relations & Communications, May Week, and Membership Committees.

Tasha is active in her church, Union Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, under the tutelage of Bishop Sir Walter Mack, Jr., serving on several projects as a part of the Communications & Events Ministry, Youth Council, Sunday School & Christian Education, and ministering with the XYZ Chorale. When not juggling the number of things she has on her plate, you can find her living her best life,  in the streets of the NC Triad, with her husband Rob and two children, or under the covers enjoying something Marvel, Harry Potter, or Disney-related.
